Gamesa China this week celebrated a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the company’s new offices in Beijing. Gamesa China Chairman and CEO José Antonio Miranda hosted the event, which was attended by all employees of the Beijing headquarters.

Miranda used the occasion to give an overview of the past year, in which we cemented our presence as a supplier to the country’s leading power companies, including Datang, Loungyuan and Huadian; deals were signed with new customers, such as China Resources Power (CRP), and the company made progress on its strategy for joint development of wind farms with local partners. What’s more, Gamesa signed deals to deliver and install its first G97-2.0 MW turbines in China, began manufacturing operations in Jilin and bolstered its Tianjin manufacturing base with a new factory devoted to the production of electrical components.

Miranda thanked all of the employees for their efforts and discussed what lies ahead in 2012, a year which promises to be complicated; nonetheless, he said the company will continue to work hard to achieve its goals.
