Goldemar, Webdom Labs and Vanapedal were honoured with the Eco-EntrepreneurXXI award, an initiative jointly sponsored by Gamesa, La Caixa, Barcelona Activa, the Catalonian Energy Institute, the Catalonian Regional Government and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of supporting the strategic clean technology industry.

Goldemar, which sells gold cluster for air purification, as the top prize-winner will receive a cash award of 20,000 euros and an opportunity to participate in a business acceleration course at Cambridge University and a Technology and Innovation Bridge. Additionally, the award includes a free six-month stay at the Barcelona Activa Glóries Business Incubator.

Webdom Labs, honoured as first runner-up, will receive 10,000 euros and the opportunity to participate in a Technology and Innovation Bridge. The company develops and markets products which enable users to monitor and manage the energy used by heating and cooling, lighting, water, natural gas and electricity systems. These products are also suitable for monitoring renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic solar and wind.

Finally, Vanapedal was honoured as second runner-up and will receive 5,000 euros and the opportunity to participate in a Technology and Innovation Bridge. Vanapedal is an eco-logistics company: it transports and distributes merchandise using environmentally sustainable vehicles and provides solutions for intercity goods transport.

In the first edition of this programme, which began in 2010 and lasts for eight months, 13 business ventures participated, of which 12 developed a business plan. What’s more, 10 of the participating projects have since been founded as companies.
