As you are aware that the Ministry of Power, Government of India, launched a scheme to give national recognition through awards to Industrial units(Large/Medium/Small scale), Hotels & Hospitals Buildings, Office Buildings, Shopping Mall Buildings, Zonal Railways, State Designated Agencies, Municipality, Aviation and Thermal Power Stations that have taken special efforts to reduce energy consumption while maintaining their production and services.  The scheme is aimed to create an environment that would spur these establishments in achieving excellence end use of energy.  The awards were given away for the first time on December 14th in 1991, which was declared as the `National Energy Conservation Day’.  Since then, National Energy Conservation Awards have always attracted the attention of Industrial and Commercial Sector establishments and increasing participation level year after year is a proof of the same.  These awards are presented by the top most dignitaries of Government of India in a function organized on 14th December every year.

In the current year Awards, a new category for Thermal Power Stations has also been introduced so as to recognize their initiatives and efforts undertaken to conserve energy.

An advertisement in respect of announcement of National Energy Conservation Award, 2010 Scheme has been released in the National Newspapers in the last week of September, 2010 seeking applications from classified Industrial units, Thermal Power Stations (TPS) , building sector to participate in this year’s award. The Award Questionnaires be download from  website: and .

It may kindly be noted that the last date for receiving the filled-in Award Questionnaire at BEE office ( Bureau of Energy Efficiency ,4th Floor, Sewa Bhawan, R.K.Puram, Sector-1, New Delhi-110066) is 20th October, 2010.  Applications received after the last date would not be considered.

The filled in application can also be e–mailed at followed by submission of duly signed hard copy by post at BEE office address.
