Vestas has received an order for delivery of 29 units of the V90-2.0 MW wind turbine to be installed in the region of Molise, Italy. The order has been placed by the company New Green Molise S.r.l., which is 50 per cent owned by Alerion Spa and 50 per cent by New Green Energy S.r.l.

With a total installed capacity of 58 MW and an estimated annual production of 129 GWh, the wind power plant will save the environment from approximately 52,000 tons of CO

 

The order comprises delivery and installation of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system, as well as a ten-year service and availability agreement. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the first half of 2010.

The project will be located in the town of San Martino in Pensilis, in the province of Campobasso.

The San Martino project is the first cooperation between New Green Molise S.r.l and Vestas, however, Alerion Spa and Vestas have already worked together several times.
